Dr. Usha Menon did her Graduation and Post Graduation from Vimala College, Thrissur. She completed her Ph.D from the University of Kerala, working under the guidance of the Late Dr. Ayappa Panikkar. She has edited collections of Poetry under the Title "Native Petels". She is also a member of The All India Women's Association & Women’s Initiatives, Trivandrum and part of the Women’s Studies Group "Samyuktha". She is on the editorial board of "Little Hands" publication for children and has anchored Programmes in Doordarsan & All India Radio in connection with literary and cultural events. Her interests include playing the Violin and Keyboard, for which she has passed Grade Examinations from Trinity College of Music, London. She has done a diploma in Journalism and edited a student news publication "Echo". She has taken a certificate in the teaching of English from CIEFL, Hyderabad. Her specialty in teaching includes Communicative English and Indian Writing in English.
